According to officials, at least three individuals were killed in a shooting inside a Safeway store in Oregon on Sunday evening.

Just after 7 p.m. local time, the incident was reported at The Forum Shopping Center in Bend, a tiny community on the Deschutes River about 130 miles southeast of Oregon’s capital, Salem. According to the Bend Police Department, the alleged shooter is among the deceased.

According to police, the armed man approached the retail mall from the rear and was originally shot at a Costco parking lot and a Big Lots store. According to authorities, no injuries were reported at any of those places.

The gunman then allegedly entered the Safeway and shot at least one victim at the west door. According to authorities, the subject was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

According to authorities, the man then proceeded into the store, shooting and murdering at least one more person.

Officers responding to the incident entered the Safeway and discovered another person, believed to be the gunman, dead inside. According to officials, no bullets were fired by the policemen.

Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz informed reporters at a news conference late Sunday that the man was carrying an AR-15 type rifle and a shotgun. The suspect’s and victims’ names have not been revealed.

Krantz emphasized the enormity of the crime scene, stating that collecting and processing all the evidence would take time.

The fatal shooting is still being investigated.
